The Benefits of Meditation

The Benefits of Meditation

When the founders of COSE chose the name: “Church Of Spiritual Enlightenment”, this reflected the purpose for which it was established, and that was to provide a Sanctuary which would bring guidance and healing for those who sought to understand their spiritual nature and their own divine essence. A Sanctuary which would guide people on their Path of Spiritual Unfoldment.

The journey towards “Enlightenment” is a personal unfoldment. Although an individual may have access to wise teachings, techniques and spiritual disciplines, it is actually the journey Inwards that guides One to be attuned with the Divine Indweller and Christ Within. Spiritual teachers are Way Show-ers, but only the Individual can come into their own Divine Presence and Oneness with the Divine Indweller.

The teachings of Jesus guided the people to the God Within. Many these days still seek God outside of themselves, but God/Divine is closer to you than your own Breath, more than you can ever imagine.

The journey for the quest for Truth need not be so lengthy, if only we just take the time to still the mind and meditate to be One with the Sacred in the Silence. Then the challenge is to bring forth this Sacred Self/Divine Indweller in all your life path workings in your outer life.  That’s  the Challenge!!!  All those moments of peaceful presence, of Inner Knowing of Oneness, and then to go about your life on a day to day basis and continuously remind your self of all the good things you have heard through wise teachings or attuned with in the Silence. It suddenly always seems to go off track, especially when we’re under pressure and confronting challenging situations.

Without us realising it, many of life’s lessons and challenges are all a part of our soul growth. Sometimes we need to stop and ask the Divine “What am I learning from this experience, what is it teaching me”. Often times, challenges become such a issue for us, we sit on them for some time, never moving forward. But if we looked at our challenges as opportunities for growth, we may take this opportunity to strengthen rather than it bring us into further suffering.

The journey of unfoldment need not be so long and arduous, the task is to release and let go of the illusion that makes you believe that you’re not Sacred and Divine.  Our persistent thoughts that niggle at us, little things that make us upset, our worries, concerns, uncertainties, insecurities and doubts. The constant chatter in our mind, which really, a majority of this chatter serves no purpose at all, but adds to our worries.

Meditation has many benefits for your spiritual development and unfoldment and also in your everyday living. With the practise of meditation, you release all former thoughts and experiences of what has been and release all the worries and uncertainties of your unknown future. You come back to your Core, your Truth and you are in the Present/Eternal Here-Now

Practising the Presence is a discipline, meditation and stilling the mind does not come easy. Some focal points to assist in the practise is to observe the breath, visualise a candle or symbol, or/and intoning a mantra.

The practise of Meditation calms and stills the mind and brings  peace into your Beingness. It is also a crucial element for developing your psychic skills and abilities. The Spirit of Healing and Inspiration can flow through you when your allow yourself to be open and receptive.

Well seasoned Mediums and Clairvoyants will tell you that their preliminary beginnings in psychic development, was to sit in Circle and meditate for a length of time. The practise of being in the Silence may have even been for many years prior to fine tuning Mediumship and Psychic abiliites. The silence (meditation), brings the finer attunement with the spiritual frequencies and also the “Inner Knowing” and absolute “Trust” that the messages and experiences are coming from the Spirit of Love and Light.

The following quotes are a beautiful example of the benefits of Meditation, I hope they inspire you:
